Night of Museums 2024 - Extraordinary evening opening with admission for 1 euro
Pinacoteca nazionale di Bologna and Palazzo Pepoli Campogrande
On the occasion of Notte dei Musei 2024 (Night of Museums 2024), on Saturday, May 18, the Pinacoteca nazionale di Bologna (National Gallery of Bologna) and Palazzo Pepoli Campogrande will remain open in the evening with a symbolic admission ticket of 1€ (except for usual free admission). Two guided tours are also scheduled at 8.30 p.m.:
- Pinacoteca - “Artists and their entourage in the golden century of Bolognese painting”
Starting from the masterpieces exhibited in the gallery, the mechanisms of production, the laws of the market and the figures of entrepreneurs between the late 16th and 17th centuries will be investigated: participants will discover the artist's profession and how the Accademia dei Carracci, the studio of Guido Reni and the Guercino family workshop were organized. - Palazzo Pepoli Campogrande - “In the Pepoli rooms: power and its representation”
Certified as early as the 12th century in Bologna, the Pepoli dynasty had a strong and lasting influence on local political reality. In the 17th century, when they built a new building in front of the historic family home in Via Castiglione, the Pepoli were well aware of the social power of the representations and symbols, emblems and allegories they contained.
