Mimmo Paladino in the Pope's Palace

solo exhibition curated by Silvia Evangelisti

Another great artist is invited to exhibit in the sixteenth-century spaces of Palazzo Bonamigos: after the exhibitions of Michelangelo Pistoletto, Marino Marini and Aldo Mondino, the Foundation organizes an exhibition by Mimmo Paladino, an internationally renowned artist who, after many years, returns to exhibit in Bologna.

The exhibition, curated by Silvia Evangelisti in collaboration with the artist, presents important works, paintings and large sculptures, particularly significant in the artist's poetics, to document his research over the last twenty years.

Large paintings and sculptures are on display in a particularly suggestive place that enhances and celebrates the creative poetics of Mimmo Paladino.

At the center of the Papal Audience Hall will be a monumental installation of thirteen black horses; two tall, hieratic bronze figures of Warriors (2005) will welcome visitors inside the covered Lodge, which overlooks the spectacular magnolia grandiflora (just recognized in the Great Italian Gardens) which also houses the suggestive installation of the seven characters - ideograms of Respiro from 1995 and a large bronze helmet from 1998 furrowed in relief by arcane signs — numbers, mazes, letters of an unknown idiom.

In the interior rooms there are paintings, including the new series of six black Madonnas set up in a single suggestive room.

The entrance includes a 45-minute guided tour of the exhibition that takes place inside the rooms of the Palace, such as the Papal Audience Hall and the loggia that leads to the Vignola staircase.
